You do not have to give your name. If you do give your name, it will be kept strictly confidential. It is necessary to have the child’s name and address.
You will be asked who you think the abuser is, what sort of abuse has occurred, and how often it has happened.
Your call will initiate an investigation by trained personnel to determine if abuse or neglect exists. Every effort is made to keep the family together and help them work out their problems. In certain instances, such as severe abuse, the child may be removed from the home.
