Dear Monroe County Friend,
The month of April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and I am pleased to announce that the Child Advocacy Network (CAN) of Monroe County is sponsoring Pinwheel for Prevention "Garden” planting events across the county. These gardens will be planted to highlight and support prevention and awareness of child abuse. As a community friend and partner, I am cordially inviting you to attend the Annual Pinwheel for Prevention Garden Kick-Off event on Monday, April 8, 2019, at 9:30 a.m. The event will take place at The Monroe County Department of Health and Human Services at 903 S. Telegraph, Monroe, Michigan 48161.
There will also be four additional Pinwheel for Prevention Garden Planting events during the month of April. Listed below are the dates, times, and locations:
April 09, 2019 Saint Mary's Grade School 9:00 a.m.
April 10, 2019 Village of Dundee 8:30 a.m.
April 12, 2019 Monroe County Courthouse 8:15 a.m.
April 12, 2019 Bedford Library 11:00 a.m.
Child Advocacy Network of Monroe County (CAN), the local prevention council, along with Children’s Trust Fund (CTF) are sponsoring the pinwheel gardens. The pinwheel is a national symbol for child abuse and neglect prevention because it is reflective of the bright future all children deserve. The actions we take to promote healthy child development are the very actions that help prevent child abuse and neglect.
