Dear Monroe County Friend,
The month of April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and I am pleased to announce that the Child Advocacy Network (CAN) of Monroe County is sponsoring Pinwheel for Prevention "Garden” planting events across the county. These gardens will be planted to highlight and support prevention and awareness of child abuse. As a community friend and partner, I am cordially inviting you to attend the Annual Pinwheel for Prevention Garden Kick-Off event on Monday, April 3, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. The event will take place at Sterling Elementary located at 160 Fessner Road, Carleton, Michigan 48117. Also, there will be three additional Pinwheel for Prevention Garden Planting events during the month of April. Listed below are the dates, times, and locations:
April 7, 2017 Monroe County Courthouse 8:15 a.m.
April 7, 2017 Bedford Library 11:00 a.m.
April 10, 2017 Village of Dundee 9:00 a.m.
Child Advocacy Network of Monroe County (CAN), the local prevention council, along with Children’s Trust Fund (CTF) is sponsoring the pinwheel gardens. The pinwheel is a national symbol for child abuse and neglect prevention because it is reflective of the bright future all children deserve. The actions we take to promote healthy child development are the very actions that help prevent child abuse and neglect.
